The Season of Fun Begins: Celebrating Fall

Autumn marks the beginning of the season of special family traditions. This year, naturally, is incredibly special because we get to introduce Makenna to our long-standing family traditions, as well as begin to create some new ones of our own. It's more fun for me and Matt since Makenna is too little to understand what's going on at this point {although anything and everything makes this little lady happy these days}.

In taking advantage of Matt's government furlough, we visited an orchard and cider mill yesterday. It was a different locale than our excursion two years ago, but we found this new site to be just as fun and perhaps even more family-friendly.

Our little outing was perfect and magical. It is an incredible feeling to rediscover the world through the eyes of your own child. There is such a sweetness to it--feeling the innocence and purest joy return as you relive your own childhood in some ways.

It gets me giddy with anticipation for the next years when Makenna is a bit older and really comes to grasp all the wonders of the world! I am never itching for her to grow older, but I can't help but be excited for all the special memories to be made.

And here is peek at Makenna's first Fall adventure:

Hasn't noticed Matt's donut yet...

....oh but then she really wanted some. Sorry, Makenna, you're too little this year!

Makenna-sized!

On to the next adventure.
